ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Are you interested in architecture, research, and the arts? Are you looking for a place to do your internship? Or do you want to learn about exhibition production and cultural management? At Proyector, we’re launching our mentoring program! Join our team!
The program is aimed at students in their final semesters of study and young professionals in the fields of design, the arts, humanities, cultural studies, communications, and related areas who are interested in exploring and learning about research, curatorial, editorial, event, and outreach work in architecture.
Interns will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with Proyector’s curatorial approach, gain training—particularly in the areas of exhibitions, editorial projects, research, and outreach—through the development of the institution’s annual program, and engage with other cultural and academic institutions both nationally and internationally.
ABOUT PROYECTOR
Proyector is a Mexico City-based curatorial platform dedicated to promoting emerging voices in contemporary architectural research. Proyector is committed to fostering new critical, theoretical, and historical strategies and tools for addressing spatial issues. During the three seasons of the annual program, researchers (and research groups) are invited to work collaboratively with Proyector’s curatorial team, seeking to present their research in multiple formats: exhibitions, publications, workshops, performances, talks, seminars, and more.
Proyector is located in Colonia Industrial, a neighborhood in north-central Mexico City that emerged from modern expansions driven by the growth of national industry, seeking to reestablish old spatial and historical connections with the city center amidst a new and evolving cultural context. Proyector seeks to promote the decentralization of the cultural scene by fostering a discourse of integration among different practices, themes, interests, languages, and formats related to architecture, promoting the necessary exchange of ideas among the city’s diverse areas and their recognition.
LEARNING TRACKS
Interns may earn credit for their professional internships by participating in one of the program’s two learning tracks: A) Curatorial and B) Outreach.

CURATORIAL

Learn to conduct curatorial research at a professional level

Acquire the necessary tools to develop professionally in the fields of research, art, culture, and cultural promotion

Learn to create professional exhibitions and museum design

Organize the Institutional Archive

Work with a young, interdisciplinary team

OUTREACH

Learn to manage social media and public content

Organize the Communications Materials Archive

Participate in the development of editorial projects

Develop video and photography skills

Update website content

Learn to draft newsletters and press releases

Plan and participate in public programming events

Assist visitors and participate in guided tours
WORK SCHEDULE
- 15 horas semanales por un periodo semestral
- Disponibilidad adicional en ocasiones para:
- Eventos e inauguraciones en fines de semana
- Días de montaje e instalaciones
CARACTERÍSTICAS
- 15 hours per week for a six-month period
- Occasional additional availability for:
- Weekend events and openings
- Setup and installation days
* Physical requirements: Ability to climb and descend stairs and lift moderate weights to assist with setting up exhibitions and public events.
